With a first class masters from film school, Ian began his career as a writer / director with the multi-award winning short film ‘Buskers', which scooped first prize at numerous national and international film festivals. He directed his first commercial in 2001 for RTE's Lyric FM which won Ian an ICAD Award for Best Direction and lead to Ian being featured in Shot's magazine.
Since then he's directed numerous memorable shorts and commercials, including the award-winning, Warner Bros distributed short film, ‘The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind'. Ian has also managed to keep up as a writer and has tried his hand at prime-time TV drama.
He is currently in pre-production on his first feature script ‘The Runway' which is due to begin filming early 2009, and he was also featured as SPIKE.com's ‘International Filmmaker to Watch' and was recently signed to Brucks Mc Donald Entertainment, L.A. Awards Include:Celtic Film & TV Festival Award (Best Short Drama), ICAD Award (Best Direction), Galway Film Fleadh Award (Best Irish Short), Cork International Film Festival Award (Jury and Audience Awards for Best Irish Short), Foyle Film Festival (Best Irish Short), Orange London Film Festival (Turner Classic Shorts Nominee), EU Journeyman Prize
